Admission Process

The Criteria for admissions is governed by the notifications issued by the Punjab Government from time to time and the Eligibility for admission shall be determined by the Selection Committee at the time of counsellings. To take admission in B.H.M.S. course the candidate must consider and fulfill the following important criteria:

  • Essential qualification
  • Age
  • Merit in Qualifying/Competitive Examination
Essential Qualification
  • The candidate must have passed one of the following qualifying examinations:-
    • The Higher secondary examination of the India School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of study comprising of Physics, Chemistry and Biology after the introduction of 10+2+3 years education structures as recommended by the National Committee on Education.
    • OR
    • The Intermediate Examination in Science of an India University / Board or other recognized examining body with Physics, Chemistry and Biology which shall include a practical test in these subjects and also English as a compulsory subject.
    • OR
    • The Pre-professional / Pre-medical examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, after passing either the higher secondary school examination, or the pre-university or an equivalent examination. The Pre-professional / Pre-medical examination shall include a practical test in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and also English as a compulsory subject.
    • OR
    • The first year of the three year degree course of a recognized university with Physics, Chemistry and Biology including a practical test in these subjects provided the examination is a "University Examination" and candidate has passed 10+2 with English at a level not less than a core course.
    • OR
    • B.Sc examination of an Indian University, provided that the candidate has passed the B.Sc examination with not less than two of the following subjects - Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) and further that the candidate has passed the earlier qualifying examination with the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
    • OR
    • Any other equivalent qualification mentioned in the PMET - Prospectus of the current session issued by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot in pursuance of the notifications issued by the State Government from time to time.
  • The candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination as listed above during the Annual Examination held in March/April of this year or earlier to it.
  • Candidates seeking admission against NRI seats are exempted from taking PMET exam.
Age

The candidate must have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the current year, (i.e. He/She should have been born 17 years back on or before 31st December).

 

Marks in Qualifying/ Competitive Examination

The candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks (Pass marks in case of SC/ BC) taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in 10+2 or Equivalent examination. In respect of SC/BC candidates with pass marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Biology for admission to BHMS course.

 

Fees
  • Total five fees are to be paid.
  • The first fee is to be paid at the time of admission as directed by the Competent Authority/University.
  • The rest of four fees shall be collected as usual (per annum) in the month of July every year, immediately at reopening of the college after the summer vacations or as informed to the students through the college notice(s). No separate / special intimation to this effect shall be made to the parents thereof.
Note:
  • All the procedures of admission to BHMS course shall be provisional, subject to the final approval of Guru Ravidas Airvar University, of Health Sciences.
  • The Rules of Admission and Fee structure are subject to change from time to time as notified by the Punjab Government.
  • Payment of fees must be made either by cash against proper receipt or by a By a Bank Draft drawn in favor of “Lord Mahavira Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana”.
  • All the rules and schedules / procedures, regarding remission and amount of fees to be charged are subject to revision and amendment(s) from time to time and the revised decision(s) will be applicable irrespective to those mentioned here.

  • The core of studies leading to the award of degree of Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery B.H.M.S shall be of 5 1/2 acedmic years and is subject to the rules of the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot and The central council of Homeopathy of India
