Library Rules

  • The library will remain open on all working days
  • Silence and order must be maintained in the library at all times an infringement of this rule will be suitably dealt with.
  • libraryAny person who loses, defaces or otherwise seriously damages a book shall be liable to pay the cost of the current price at that time and in the event of the book being one of set or series , the cost of whole set of series, the cost of whole set of series will be recovered if the single copy lost/ damaged is not available.
  • The following shall be entitled to use the library:
    • The Staff of the college
    • Students of the college
  • Books, those are required for occasional references such as Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Atlases, Year books will not be issued from the library.
  • Books borrowed from the library are not transferable.
  • Books will be issued strictly on the priority of demand.
  • Two books can be taken out from the library at a time.
  • No books shall be kept by a student for more than 14 days For each succeeding day that a book is kept, he/shall have to pay a charge of Rupee 10/- per book per day till the book is returned to the library
  • Text books prescribed by the college, shall not be issued to the students.
  • Every borrower shall be issued a card which will be stamped by the librarian eachtime a book is issued or resumed
  • if the card is lost, duplicate card can be procured from office on payment of Rs. 100/-.
  • During the annual stock checking in July, all books issued must be returned. A student who does not return the book shall have to pay double the charges
  • Periodicals, Publications and Newspapers received for students must not be taken away under away circumstances.
  • A time limit of 14 days for keeping the books is allowed for all the members of the staff who may keep 5 books at a time for a period not exceeding one month.
  • Each borrower must make his/her own arrangements to carry the books to and from the library.
  • Departments are allowed to keep a departmental library of highly technical books and utility exclusive to the department or whose duplicate are available in the college library. The department libraries will be open to the members of the staff only. The number of books to be issued to a department library shall not exceed 100.
  • No book or journal will be issued to the member of the staff for consultation in the library unless the dem and slip has been filled in. the borrower of the book/journal will hand over the volumes back to the librarian personally.
  • He/she should see that the demand slip has been duly cancelled otherwise the books may still stand in his/her name. Demand of books and journals to be read in the library will not be entertained by the Library Attendant directly.
  • Bound volumes of journals will be treated as books
  • Books may be renewed on request at the discretion of the librarian.
